Inherited Reflection

Artist Statement: This self portrait explores the coexistence of my Korean heritage and modern American identity via reflection. The left side is drawn with graphite pencils and depicts a more assimilated version of myself, while on the right side portrays traditional Korean styling using Prismacolor colored pencils. The contrast of muted and vibrant mediums emphasizes how identity is influenced by the past and present, with traces of each remaining visible in the process.
